blog lovin' an' followin'

In primary we had an English book series called "Follow me" and the theme song from all the listening comprehensions and such is now stuck in my head. I can only remember it beginning "Follow me, are you ready? (Ti di!)" and I spent forever trying to find the song on youtube or somewhere. Apparently, over-decade-old English songs designed for Finnish primary school children aren't that popular that you could find them anymore..

Anyway, I've mentioned this before but it'd mean the world to me if all of you lovelies would continue following this wee blog of mine via bloglovin' (Go on, you know you want to!). If you haven't already, you can import all the blogs you read to bloglovin' here.

come on skinny love, what happened here?

 Playsuit - H&M
Top&Shoes - New look

I did say I'd take photos here again. The lions, lil' angels and pillars just look so amazing. I wish buildings like this were still built, or at least the old ones restored and preserved. They're so much prettier than all (well, most) the funny-looking modern constructions, and everything with historical and architectural value is preferable, I think. I'm a traditional gal.

My conservative values probably aren't best shown in my outfit choices. The shortness of this playsuit is nearly too much for even me. (Not really..) I tend to keep my hands in my pockets so it's easier to pull the shorts down a little without drawing too much attention to it, aha! It's one of my favourite clothings though, and I love wearing it with this sheer top. Although you can't see it, the top also is buttoned all the way at the back, which I think is pretty neat:-)

you have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve

Top - Gift from Paris
Blouse - River Island
Skirt - Primark
Shoes - Vagabond

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend! I've (for once) been quite busy. Can't believe I only have a little more than a week 'till I leave Leeds, this year has gone pretty fast! It'll be good to be back in Finland, but I'm also looking forward to coming back to Leeds after the summer. The packing is almost done and I finally got around to going to uni to print my tickets. And even though there's been some lil' sprinkles, the weather's been nice enough. And it should stay sunny 'till I leave just to please me, hehe. Don't mind if I was to take the sun with me to Finland.

Anyway, I'm going to see if I can conjure a nice wee Sunday meal for myself. Catch you later!

can you suture my wounds and feelings?

1. BASTILLE ft. Ella - No Angels. <3

2. Churchill - Change. I've only just found Churchill a wee while ago and I'm very much liking them!

3. Mickey & Sylvia - Love is Strange. I've been listening to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, it is so good! Everyone knows that soundtracks are the best thing about revision, and even after revision I haven't been able to stop listening to all my favourite soundtracks:-)

4. She & Him - I Could've Been Your Girl. I love this song, She &Him, Zooey Deschanel, the Volume 3 album and everything about this wee video.

5. Biffy Clyro - Opposite. Have I ever told you that I love Biffy Clyro? Well, I do.

baby, i hate days like this

Dress&Over-knee socks - New look
Bird rings - H&M
Heart ring - Gift/SunKoru

This is how rainy days should be spent. Reading a good book (I'm reading Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca!), maybe having something to munch on. And, obviously, after finishing the book you watch a good movie and/or catch up on your favourite TV shows. Actually, I do this on other days than rainy days as well, but when it rains it's a must. I do like days like this.

print on print on print

Cardi - Zara
Crop top&Shoes - New look
Skirt&Ring - H&M
Necklace - Gift/Kalevala Koru
Bag - Dad's old

It was a tad windy today, so wearing a short(ish) skirt probably wasn't the wisest decision. This is one of my favourite outfits of late, though. Wee polka dots, stripes and lil' hearts all in one? Yes, please! And now that I've started having bare legs for the summer, I never want to put on tights anymore. Even if it wasn't sunny all the time.

Lately I've been watching CSI (Miami, because it's the best!) starting from the beginning. I'm already in the last season, which is the only one that I haven't seen any episodes from. At the same time I want to watch them all to know how it ends, but I also don't want to as then I won't get to see my wee Horatio and Ryan anymore. I do love CSI:-) And that's how I'll spend the rest of the day!

things i'm looking forward to this summer:

1. Ice cream! (It is so hard to find lactose free food in the UK, so I'm glad I'll be in Finland where us poor souls have been taken into consideration with at least all the usual flavours. Though I have to admit that I can't always resist the temptation and can often be seen eating food (especially ice cream)  filled with lactose. And then I'm ill.)

2. Being reunited with my sewing machine!

3. Getting to go to eat at my favourite places back in Finland! First I'll be wanting to visit my Vietnamese, yum!

4. Swimming in lakes, rivers, ponds and the sea!

5. Ok, seeing mum. And some others of my favourite people.

6. Going through all my things. Before coming to uni we just moved from my childhood home and while being away my mum's moved again to an even smaller house. So she can't store all of my stuff (and my brother and sister's stuff) and I'll need to sort that out. (And possibly throw away lots of things, which is sad.)

7. BBQ and grill food!

8. I'm actually looking  forward to working, haha! I've got a nice job and it pays considerably well, so all's good:-)

9. Exploring Leeds further before going to my mum's, and possibly seeing friends I've not seen in ages!

10. My birthday! I'm usually not excited about my birthday, but it'll be my 21st and maybe people will get me lovely presents, hehe!

11. Reading books I really want to read, instead of all the uni books!

12. Having a garden for the summer! That's one thing I miss having. And apparently mum's started planting some flowers and veg that I can continue taking care of once I'm there. I do love pottering about in the garden!

13. All the summer dresses and others clothes. (Although, I wear the same stuff pretty much all year round. But it feels different.)

There's a few things I'm looking forward to. Have you got any pretty plans made yet?

P.S. The pictures are old ones from last summer!

tea time

I don't like tea. How very un-British of me. (But to be fair, my mum is Finnish and loves tea, and dad who was English never drank tea.) I had to change my ways and have a cuppa though, as mum sent me the cutest tea ever. This is possibly the first time I've had tea in more than five years, haha! But with cute names, yummy-smelling flavours and pictures of the Moomins, how could I say no? "Moominmamma's Magic Potion" with rhubarb and strawberry flavours. "Sweetheart" with wild strawberry flavour. "I should know!" with lemon flavour. And "Go for it!" with blueberry muffin flavour. Sounds so good! I've only tried the blueberry muffin one and, as always with tea, was disappointed. Why does it smell so good and then the taste is such a let down and nowhere near the amazing smell? But I suppose tea drinkers would like these anyway. I'm just not one of those people!

Have a good weekend, all you lovelies♥!

thursday thoughts pt. 13

I don't like how this turned out and now that I've let it be for a while, I don't know if I even like the sentiment behind the quote. Makes one sound so un-self-initiative and naïve.. But anyway, there it is!

ooh, look at that, look at her walking, turning her head, taking my breath away

Blazer - Grandma's old
Cardi - Primark
Crop top - 2nd hand/Diy
Jeans - Vero Moda
Shoes - New look
Earrings - Diy

The weather's so much nicer now, but I actually had to pull on my jeans one day 'cause it hadn't been that summery but rainy. I'm much rather seen with bare legs, and a wee summer dress on! So happy that it's been possible to dress like that lately.

You know, what I don't like though? Walking under trees. A day doesn't go by without me finding some creepy crawlies in my hair. Does this happen to everyone, or is my hair actually that much more appealing that all the insects jump in for a free ride? I don't approve of this.

Hope you're all having a lovely day♥!

never speak it aloud

AH, it's been ages since I last saw a good old silent movie. Had almost forgotten how good they are, but I watched Nosferatu on Thursday and that was a nice reminder. I actually wish they'd still make silent films more often and have orchestras playing at the pictures. How neat would that be! Do you watch silent movies, fancy recommending your favourites? :-)

Also, can you believe it's June already?
