keep it secret, keep it safe

Dress - New look
Vest - H&M
Scarves - Grandma's old (Not sure of the one around my head, though!)

Yesterday, I started rewatching LotR. As I only had time for 'The fellowship of the ring' I'll probably need to see the other two soon, too. I could never watch these films too much! Can't say that I know every line, but I'm rather close to that, mumbling everything to myself. Perhaps, after seeing all the movies again, I should start rereading all the books about Middle-earth. Just to refresh my memory before the first part of "The Hobbit" comes out! (Yeh, there's eight months to that, and I'm already getting excited!) Oh, and I had some Moomin chocolate coins to munch, as well:-)

she's got you high and you don't even know yet

Top - Zara
Playsuit - H&M
Tights - Seppälä

After a long time I'm liking blue eyeliner again!

Just a quick outfit post! The moving-thing, getting my graduation party organised and everything is keeping me quite busy just now. I think I have loads of time but come to think of it, I don't. Everything should be ready for the graduation almost in a month and we should move out at least before the end of June. I don't even know if I passed all my exams and I haven't started sewing my dress. Also, we have no idea where we're moving. But, I know everything will end up going just fine!

Hope you've all been having a lovely week♥!

my room

I just thought I'd post a wee bit about my room. This was originally my parents' bedroom where I slept when a wee one. As I grew older, somehow it was them that got kicked out of the room and it became mine. I always meant to paint it and redecorate but it never happened. Now that we're moving away, these'll probably be the last pictures of the room. That I suppose is why I'm doing this, so that I'll remember my room. If I feel like it, I might post pictures from other rooms as well..

My huge collection of Reader's Digests, and other stuff. Reader's Digest has been my favourite for so long. At one point, almost everything I said I had read from them, and mama would always ask me "How do you know that? Did you get it from Reader's Digest, again?" A bit pathetic, but they're still good!

That's my Yellow Submarine drawer which I painted when I was 12 (ish). I'm not the most patient person in the world, and was even less back then. Therefore the quality of the painting isn't that good, as I got bored and just wanted to finish it quickly.. I think I'll redo it soon:-)

(New 2nd hand shoes!)

I've also diy'd the nightstand. Before it was a desk, but with a little sawing and painting, it turned out an alright nightstand. I used to like woodwork a lot, but that's changed more to sewing nowadays!

violets aren't always blue

Dress - Self-made
Cardi - Vero Moda
Brooch - Gift from mama

Ring - Mama's old

Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was ordinary, but pretty good. I had a Friends marathon by myself, ate loads of ice cream and just enjoyed myself without anyone disturbing me. That's always nice! I also got this ring from mama. 'Got' probably isn't the right word for this situation, as mama was about to just throw it in the trash and I had to save the poor thing. Therefore it's mine now. It's mama's class ring from high school. Don't know why anyone would throw such a thing away, I think the ring is cute. I haven't decided anything about my hair yet, which means that I'll most likely leave it like this at least until the graduation. I'll think about it again after that! Also, my watermelon nails have lasted quite nicely, and quite long!

Oh, and this weekend I joined Pottermore. Please, don't let me be the only one this obsessed with Harry Potter! At first I thought it'd be horribly childish, but it's so much fun! Getting your own wand and pet, getting sorted into your house, reading all the extra information by J.K. Rowling; so good. I was so sure I'd be in Slytherin (though, I'd obviously want to be in Gryffindor the most!) but suppose I was too intelligent for that (haha). So Ravenclaw it is!

when the time comes along and the lights run out

I took these about a month ago and forgot all about them, so here we go. In the pictures my hair's under the hat but I've been thinking of cutting my hair short like this. It'd be so easy and light for summer. At the same time, I miss my long hair. I'm so indecisive! My graduation is in June and I was going to grow my hair for that, but I'm not sure about it anymore either. Even if I continued growing the hair, there's the question of my sidecut. I've had it for almost a year, I really like it, but perhaps it's time for a change? I know it's just hair, and mine grows back rather quickly.. It's just that I never can decide what to do! I've tried to get some opinions out of the family and friends but no-one's been much of a help with their "You'd really suit short hair! But I did like your long hair, too!" -answers, haha! Be sure to tell me what you think:-) !

watermelon nails!

I've been wanting to do these watermelon nails ever since I saw a picture of them on the internet. And after that I saw a whole lot more of them. My collection of nail polishes isn't that impressive, but the pink and turquoise ones are my favourites. I mostly use them or another Rimmel's 60 second nail polishes in grey (they are good btw!). So, for the watermelon nails I used Maxfactor's "Disco Pink", Rimmel's "Sky High" and Mavala's "Charm". Don't you just love the names on nail polishes? I hope I'm not the only one when I say that it's great fun to just go through different little bottles and see what colours and names you can find in a store.. I do acknowledge these aren't the most brilliant nails ever, but I'm sure I'll be trying these watermelons again. They're so sweet! And I may enrich my collection with black and white. Then I'll be able to put a white layer between the green and pink, and do the seeds with black. I'm far too excited.

people help the people

Here's a number of magazines and leaflets about people I adore I've been saving and meaning to read for ages. Mama's got a wee pile of these Jacques-Yves Cousteau magazines she had as a child. She was about to throw them away but I couldn't let that happen. I love that man! I also love watching his adventures on Calypso. His red cap may not be that fashionable but I'm desperately wanting one, hehe:-)

I'm not American, but I swear Obama is one of my favourite presidents. Not only from USA, but all over the world.

I love Hugh Laurie. I love him as a person, in every movie/tv programme I've seen him in, and his music. He's possibly my favourite actor, and House is definitely my favourite tv show. After this last season I'll probably greet because there won't be any new episodes..

This Martin Luther King Jr. leaflet was really interesting! Such a great man.

I had saved this Time for years and supposedly didn't have time to read it. Now that I started reading it, it was impossible. Someone had cut pictures etc. of it and there were a few holes in the magazine. Gutted! Anyway, I also love Albert Einstein. (Clever and cute!)

peeks

Skirt - Self-made
Cardi - Primark

Here's peeks to my outfit and Saturday in general. I started sewing after quite a long pause. Of course I couldn't start with one project at a time but a wee pile. Now it looks like our kitchen table won't be used for eating for some time.. So I took the top two fabrics from my basket full of stuff I've been meaning to turn into something. Maybe one of them will get finished during the weekend. If not, there'll be quite a many sewing projects going on as I need to start planning on my graduation dress soon as well!

flowers and snow

Dress - Primark
Tights -  Seppälä
Shoes - Skopunkten

Earrings - Urban Outfitters

Shine, sun, shine! And make the snow go away! As you can see I'd be ready to throw on some flowery dresses instead of my winter coat. This seems to be my daily whine, but seriously, it is April and there's no need for the snow. At least, the weather was rainy yesterday and perhaps that'll melt the snow a little by little.

Oh, and I think I've gotten rid of my "white tights are for under 5-year-olds" way of thinking. For two days in a row I've worn these tights and felt quite comfortable. Now they make a nice change in my opinion. For example with this dress, the look becomes a lot more lighter than it'd be with black tights.

last winter

Mama:-)

Here's a couple of pictures taken during Easter. The weather's been great, so mama got even me tempted to go outside more often than usually. The snow doesn't seem to be melting away and I've had to accept again that spring in Finland doesn't come as quickly as everywhere else. We had fun sledging down the hill and skiing on the river though! I did fall a few times and bruised my arm pretty bad-lookingly. I used to do that all the time as a child and looks like not a lot has changed..
